Velvet Cottage is a family owned, recently modernised 3 bedroom holiday cottage situated in a magnificent setting one and a half miles North of Llangollen. The fully furnished self catering accommodation for five, graded 3 Star by VisitWales, is positioned above a quiet lane and is backed by National Trust owned Velvet Hill.

The cottage is an ideal holiday destination at any time of year. On cooler Spring mornings, the Superking bed will keep you warm and cosy! In warmer weather, the patio in front of the cottage is great for al fresco dining, whilst the newly constructed private terrace at the back of the cottage can be used for sun-bathing (two sunbeds are provided) or for a barbecue (equipment provided). There are many options for eating and drinking either locally or in Llangollen itself. For evening entertainment the Abbey Grange Hotel, with it’s own micro-brewery, is five minutes’ walk away.

Local attractions include Valle Crucis Abbey, Llangollen canal and Pontcysyllte aqueduct, Llangollen pavilion & Eisteddfod, Llangollen steam railway (featuring guest appearances by Thomas the Tank Engine!), Plas Newydd (home of the Ladies of Llangollen), the Horseshoe Pass and the North Wales coast. The cottage is an ideal base for hill and lane walking, mountain biking, golf, fishing, canoeing, rock climbing or simply relaxing in the famous North Wales and Borderlands countryside and mountains. The cottage is not suitable for wheelchairs due to the presence of access steps and an internal staircase to the bathroom facilities. A car is recommended but not essential (off-road parking is provided). Dogs and other pets are not allowed in the cottage.
