Velvet Cottage is self check-in using a keysafe. After the booking balance has been paid, you receive arrival information including the keysafe code for your stay. Check in is normally after 4pm, but earlier check-ins are facilitated where possible.

There are steep steps to access Velvet Cottage, so it is not suitable for persons of restricted mobility or breathing conditions such as asthma.

Yes, there is off road parking for one vehicle and parking at the bottom of the lane (by the telephone box) or at Abbey Farm caravan park (towards Valle Crucis Abbey) for a second. Parking is free of charge with no restrictions. We ask that guests don't park on the lane in front of the cottage as it causes an obstruction for any large vehicles trying to access the properties further up the lane.

Yes, there’s no extra charge for pets. Dogs are free to explore our fully enclosed garden

No, all costs are included in direct booking quotations, discounts apply to smaller parties and longer stays.
Electric heating is included in the price. The heating schedule is pre-programmed and the radiators can then be adjusted to suit.

Not really. What we do ask is that guests are careful with what they put down the sinks and toilets, as we have a biological sewage treatment plant which relies on live bacteria. Bleach is a definite no-no!
